More about the book:

The iconic and much-loved British haulage firm, Eddie Stobart, is an amazing phenomenon. From humble beginnings over forty years ago in rural Cumbria, today if all the trucks in the Stobart fleet were parked end to end, they would form a convoy more than twenty miles long; every 4.5 seconds Eddie Stobart makes a delivery; every year the firm delivers sixteen million tonnes of goods on twenty-six million pallets.

The company is loved as much for its 2,200 immaculate green and red trucks, each emblazoned with a girl's name on the front, as for its famous army of dedicated Stobart Spotters who try to find each one. The firm's universal appeal was reflected by the massive success of the Channel 5 TV series, Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers that has regularly attracted over 1.5 million viewers, creating overnight celebrities of a number of the company's drivers.

Published to coincide with the fourth Channel 5 series of Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers to be broadcast in October, Eddie Stobart: The Ultimate Guide to the British Trucking Legends is the first official guide to the company. Much more than the story of a hugely successful company, the book draws you into the heart of the firm and invites you to buckle up with the Stobart drivers and join them for a week in the life of a massive delivery, from paperwork to pallet. It shows what it is like to be sat in the driver seat of a Stobart truck - the noises, visibility, clutch control, gears, steering - and discover the sheer power of these machines.

Eddie Stobart: The Ultimate Guide to the British Trucking Legends follows the highs and lows of the company and looks at the colourful personalities at its heart whose entrepreneurial skill and determination to succeed has proven to be staggeringly powerful; from Eddie Stobart himself to his sons, Edward, William and William's childhood friend, Andrew Tinkler. The book introduces the army of Stobart drivers and workers, proud to wear the famous uniform; as well as, of course, the Stobart Spotters, a legion of fans dedicated to following the famous red and green lorries.

Illustrated throughout with amazing photographs, and featuring first-hand stories of incredible journeys from the intrepid truckers, as well as astonishing facts and statistics, along with an exclusive cutaway illustration of a truck, offering superb, never-before-seen detail, Eddie Stobart: The Ultimate Guide to the British Trucking Legends is truly an irresistible book for Stobart fans of all ages.
