Steadplan Limited, the MAN Service Dealer with centres in Clitheroe and Rochdale, has continued to expand its MAN Dealer footprint with the acquisition of Croft Fleet Maintenance (Leeds) Limited.
Speaking on behalf of Steadplan, Managing Director, Jim Smith, said, "Having successfully opened our Rochdale centre some 18 months ago, we were delighted to have the opportunity to acquire a Leeds operation with an existing MAN customer base.
"In terms of our own expansion this seems to us to be a very appropriate and natural progression. "
Andy Turner, Head of UK Network Development for MAN Truck & Bus UK, said, "When Croft Fleet Maintenance made their decision to sell, we were very pleased that an existing MAN Dealer of the stature of Steadplan was able to get involved.
"It gives us and all MAN operators a smooth and seamless continuation of our national network provision, and further simplifies communications with the slowly-reduced investor numbers in our private capital Dealer group.
"We know from past performance that Steadplan will invest into their new Leeds business to offer both local and transient MAN customers a first class support service."
All existing service and parts staff will be retained by Steadplan as part of their acquisition and a full review of service capabilities will be conducted, in cooperation with MAN, to set investment levels for the growth of the new centre.
The new Steadplan business will be operated under the strict demands of MAN's unique Up Time Principle (UTP), which sets standards across every MAN service dealership. In MAN's 2010 UTP Awards, Steadplan's Clitheroe centre won the overall Service Provider of the Year title and for 2011 were one of the six Top Performers.
