Major names line up for Business Strategy Forum at Maintec 2014

The Business Strategy Forum, at Maintec 2014 next week, will feature 15 free seminars and panel debates delivered by experts from major organisations such as Sellafield, Gatwick Airport, Network Rail and Rolls Royce Group.


Attendees looking for answers to key industry challenges will not want to miss the presentation by Alan Wilson, Owner and a Director of Carmichael Smith Ltd, who will kick off day one of the Business Strategy Forum, discussing 'Early Asset Management'. Tahir Ayub, ‎Senior Design Authority Engineer at Network Rail will then outline the innovations in railway low voltage power distribution systems while Andy Bates from Heathcote Associates will consider embedded and virtual systems. A panel discussion on pro-active maintenance will wrap up the first day.


For all those focused on reliability, Andrew Fraser, Managing Director of Reliable Manufacturing, will detail how to use reliability to unlock sustainable success. Ian Daniels from Sellafield will discuss disciplined maintenance whilst Paul Gibbons, Asset Management Principal at Gatwick Airport presents 'Flying colours at Gatwick'. Chris Senior, Product Specialist at Snap-on will detail 'Challenging Diagnostics Approaches in Automotives' before a panel debates 'Future Through-Life Support in Energy and Utilities' to end the second day.


Automation is the hot topic on Thursday 13th March, with Geoff Walker, Director at Artesis, discussing whether automated systems will ever be as good as humans at diagnosing complex faults. Professor Rajkumar Roy from Cranfield University will then present 'Automated Service Damage Identified' while Keynote speaker Charlie Dibsdale, Chief of Engineering Research and Intellectual Property at Osys, which is part of the Rolls-Royce Group, will discuss a holistic approach to prognostics. Managing big data is a major issue for maintenance professionals, so Robert Russell, Principal Consultant Engineer at Critical Software Technologies Ltd, has been invited to detail the story of complex data in advanced asset maintenance before the final panel debates whether big data is a cloud on the horizon, or silver lining?


In addition to The Business Strategy Forum, Maintec will feature a full exhibition packed with major names, plus The Exchange will feature 20, free content-rich talks full of advice, new innovations and case studies for maintenance professionals, engineers, plant and asset managers to learn from.
