Fareham based waste management firm L&S Waste has raised £10,700 for local children's charity The Rainbow Centre.
60 friends and clients of L&S Waste helped to raise the funds through attending a Clay Pigeon Shoot at the Meon Springs Estate in Hampshire. Ten teams of five registered to take part, including guests from local businesses Changestone Business Consultants, Mercedes, and Cosham Plant.
Each of the teams competed in a main shoot followed by a team flush after lunch. Coincidently the L&S Waste team were crowned 'Top Guns' of the day, achieving the highest overall score, with the Ladies Shoot prize awarded to Nicky Wood from Changestone.
The day's Shoot was followed by a charity auction, with everyone involved bidding generously for some fabulous prizes.
The event was attended by founder of The Rainbow Centre, Helen Somerset How, who said: "The Rainbow Centre would like to especially thank Mick Balch at L&S Waste for organising the day, Meon Springs for their fantastic hosting, all those who donated prizes and all attended this fabulous day."
L&S Waste Management managing director, Mick Balch, said: "L&S Waste's relationship with the Rainbow Centre goes back a few years and we have always tried to help in any way we can. This year we set ourselves an ambitious target to raise £10k for the charity, and we are delighted to have achieved this in a single day!
"As a keen shooter I have several good friends and customers who enjoy clay shooting so it seemed that this would be an enjoyable way of raising funds for The Rainbow Centre. I would like to extend a big thank you to all the people that attended the event and gave so generously to support this fantastic cause."
