There is still an opportunity to book for the Freight Transport Association's Van Excellence conferences, which return on two dates in April following the popularity of last year's events. The Van Excellence conference is the perfect opportunity for van operators to obtain the best advice from a practical, operational viewpoint, giving them peace of mind surrounding the operation of their van fleet.
Delegates will hear from keynote speaker Chief Inspector Paul Keasey, Operations Manager, Central Motorways Police Group as well as industry experts, Van Excellence industry partners and FTA specialists, who will be on hand to provide information on the latest issues affecting van operators.
With the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) making it clear that it intends to target non-compliant van operators, one of the key sessions at this year's events will focus on load security and overloading.
Mark Cartwright, FTA's Head of Vans, said:
"We all know that keeping vans within legal weight limits can be a challenge for many operators, particularly those using vans as mobile toolboxes, and it is vitally important that we focus on load security and overloading at the Van Excellence conferences to ensure best practice is identified."
Key sessions at each event include:
Lowering your carbon footprint, including fuel management
The importance of Van Excellence for small fleet operators
Load security and overloading
The role of technology
Managing driver behaviour
Developments in vehicle and operational technology
Professionalising the fleet - recognising van drivers
Challenging the industry
