Komatsu opens doors for Summerbridge

Hull-based Summerbridge Doors Ltd, has taken delivery of a new Komatsu forklift truck for use at its 42,000 sq ft site in Anlaby. The FD35 T-8 was supplied by local dealer, Windsor Komatsu, to replace its previous model for transporting raw and finished goods.

"We have been using a Komatsu forklift for the past five years, and it has provided for all our needs without any problems," said Summerbridge Managing Director, Ken Bean.

"When it came to renewing, there was no question about switching from Komatsu. Our existing truck has proved safe and efficient, so the new model promises to be just as reliable. We have had the truck fitted with fork extensions, to reach the ends of the cargo it will carry, which can measure over two metres in width and length," he added.

The Komatsu is being used inside Summerbridge's warehouse, and in the outside yard area. When goods come in from the factory, the truck is used to unload full sheets of MDF. It is used again, to load finished goods onto vans for onward delivery throughout the UK.

The FD35 T-8 is known for its operator comfort, and benefits from a comprehensive specification which includes electrically-controlled forward-reverse lever, hydraulic power steering, high position air intake vents, wide step up, easy-to-read meter panel and an adjustable steering column and seat.

The efficient engine design ensures cleaner, less noxious exhaust emissions, and easy engine starts at low temperatures. The diesel counterbalance is in the top of its class for strong torque and high displacement which makes it ideal for tough lifting jobs.

Summerbridge manufactures cupboard doors for kitchen, bathroom, bedroom units, and similar. The company was set up over 17 years ago, and provides a UK-wide distribution service for its products.
