Kewill technology to power INTTRA supply chain shipment visibility solution

Kewill, a leading provider of multimodal transportation and logistics management software for seamless supply chain execution, has today announced that it is providing the underlying supply chain technology powering a forthcoming visibility solution for INTTRA, the world's largest, multi-carrier network for the ocean shipping industry. Under an OEM agreement, INTTRA will integrate Kewill software with its own multi-carrier e-commerce platform, enabling freight forwarders, shippers and carriers to access accurate, consistent and timely supply chain shipment information, and identify and manage exceptions.

The visibility capabilities are part of the Kewill MOVEā„¢ platform - a comprehensive end-to-end solution for managing the complexities of transportation, logistics and trade compliance. Implementation of the software is part of an industry initiative by INTTRA to improve the quality of ocean shipping data and deliver full-cycle visibility for containerised shipments worldwide. INTTRA's new solution, powered by Kewill, is scheduled for availability in early 2014, giving shippers of all sizes value-added services in the form of shipment lifecycle and detailed track-and-trace capabilities, processing up to 2 million status messages per day.

"Achieving meaningful supply chain collaboration is easier in theory than in practice," comments Bob Farrell, President and CEO at Kewill. "Without it, supply chain businesses are being held back from delivering greater value to their customers and improving their own margins. We are delighted to be working with INTTRA and contributing to the improvement in data quality in the ocean shipping industry."

The solution will enable critical supply chain information such as bookings, shipping instructions and container information from multiple carriers to be viewed in near real-time via a standard web browser. This will give shippers and freight forwarders access to data from INTTRA's ocean carrier network and ultimately include optional data sources, such as U.S. rail and trucking. Additionally, large volumes of timely container event information can be obtained, viewed and analysed to improve the shipment delivery process, and enhance decision-making and logistics management.

With the convenience of a single sign-on, supply chain visibility will be significantly improved, enabling proactive identification and resolution of issues stemming from shipping delays, shipment accuracy, shipment status, as well as improved management of costs.

"We are excited to have Kewill's world-class supply chain technology as the foundation for INTTRA's supply chain shipment visibility solution," said Ken Bloom, CEO at INTTRA. "Together, with access to the INTTRA network and our data quality focus, the result will be improved quality of ocean shipping data, as more accurate, timely and consistent information helps ensure more certainty, speed and savings within the shipping process. Through our combined expertise and technologies, we will provide the shipping industry with a comprehensive and intuitive solution benefiting logistic professionals globally."
