Buffaload Logistics, the leading UK double-deck operator and trailer rental supplier in the temperature controlled transport industry has appointed Jim Blaber as Development and Operations Manager Scotland, with responsibility for the companyâs new distribution hub in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland.
Jim not only brings a wealth of transport management experience â most recently as Operations Manager for JHP Transport Lanark Ltd, and Farm Field Fresh Ltd â but also has a background in retail which makes him ideally qualified to develop Buffaloadâs new Logistics and Service Centre for Scotland.
From Livingston, Buffaload will provide a nationwide chilled consolidation and distribution service for temperature controlled and ambient loads. The company will also offer a chilled storage and cross-docking service from the Livingston site.
âWe are looking to provide a âone-stop-shopâ service for the food producers and retailers throughout Scotlandâ says Jim, âBuffaload Logistics is a leader in temperature controlled distribution throughout England and Wales and is well known for its double-deck â âmore load, less costâ expertise. Now, it is time to offer this same service and support to the marketplace in Scotland.â
âFrom our strategically located site here in Livingston,â adds Jim âwe intend to provide a flexible and competitive logistics service upon which the industry can truly rely. We aim to be fully operational by the end of the summer.â
The addition of Livingston is part of Buffaloadâs general growth plan aimed at providing a national logistics operation for the temperature controlled and ambient transport sectors. The company is investing upwards of ÂŁ1m in the new operation both in new double-deck trailers and site facilities. Currently, from its headquarters in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, Buffaload operates a diverse fleet of ambient and temperature controlled trailers including 82 doubleâdeckers.
