James Fisher Warehousing & Distribution (JFWD) have announced acceptance to the UK Warehousing Association, Britain's leading trade association, as members following a recent site inspection. The membership acceptance recognises the high quality warehousing and standards of service that JFWD provides. A rigorous inspection by a UKWA Council Official was performed to ensure the highest standards in critical areas of warehousing. During inspection, UKWA Inspecting Officer Mike Redwood stated the JFWD site was 'the best site I've ever carried out an initial inspection on and I am sure that James Fisher will make an excellent addition to UKWA''. Kay Robinson, JFWD's Site Manager said 'We are proud to be members of UKWA and we are sure we will reap rewards from the benefits it provides.'
The UKWA membership will support JFWD's recent expansion into the commercial sector, helping to give customer's peace of mind in the knowledge that companies belonging to UKWA demonstrate the highest standards in warehousing. Ms Robinson said 'The award of this membership is a great development for our site and reinforces our commitment to excellence. The JFWD facility currently offers in excess 30,000 sq ft of storage area and the 15 years experience of storing and handling highly sensitive equipment for the defence market enables JFWD to offer an acclaimed storage and stock management solution to commercial clients.
