IMPRESSES THE CHARTERED
INSTITUTE OF LOGISTICS. AS A RESULT of transport press coverage about the successful launch of JDR Distribution's new 'moved4u.com' gateway delivery service, a delegation from the Chartered Institute of Logistics, West and East Midlands Region, recently visited the Tamworth site.
They were received by JDR'S Managing Director, Jarrod Baughan, who was pleasantly surprised to welcome over 25 visitors. He introduced them to the 'moved4u.com' service, explaining that it was a new regional delivery consolidation gateway, which allows customers to drop off their orders for delivery into the surrounding area, 24/7, at very competitive prices. Added benefits include no pre-booking necessary and web-based IT, providing instant track and trace and POD confirmation.
The CILT delegates were very impressed with the new service, and followed up the meeting with many enquiring emails. At least three of them now use the 'move4u.com' service, with many more expected to take advantage of it during 2008. Jarrod Baughan himself has been a member of the Institute since 1990.
Comments Mr Baughan: "Apart from this visit by CILT, we are attracting a lot of interest from a diverse range of transport businesses who are simply looking for better ways of fulfilling their delivery commitments, at the right time and at the right price, plus they like the partnership approach it brings. The main attraction to them is that our service offers a seamless IT link, via online book-in and drop-off facilities, with no constraints, and is totally flexible to meet their needs and those of their customers."
