Jason Peel is to head up Siemens’ integrated drives systems (IDS) strategy as part of his expanded role within the organisation.
The newly created role reflects the increasing importance to Siemens and its customers of fully integrated drive systems contributing towards making UK industry more efficient and better performing. The concept of integrating drive systems is also part of Siemens’ ongoing strategy for electrification, automation and digitalisation across infrastructure and industry.
Jason commented: “We are in a unique position, being able to offer the only true drive train solution from a single source, perfectly matching components that seamlessly integrate into the automation system. My focus for the coming months is to ensure that we are responsive to our customers’ drive train needs, aligning our external and internal resources and processes, to reduce their risk, time to market and time to profit.”
Jason joined Siemens in 2005, originally working in the North West region and latterly heading up sales at Mechanical Drives in Leeds, which he will continue to do.
In July Siemens is hosting an IDS road show to introduce the concept and promote the benefits of IDS to UK industry. Venues and timings will be announced shortly. For further information, please visit www.industry.siemens.com/topics/global/en/integrated-drive-systems/ids-roadshow
