IT company Network Integrity Services NIS recommend construction firms move into cloud computing

A growing IT trend will allow thousands of construction firms to significantly cut their IT costs - without putting business operations at risk.

Expert IT firm Network Integrity Services (NIS) is recommending all of its construction clients move their computing into "the cloud".

This is where applications are accessed through the internet and data is stored safely online, rather than on servers based in local offices.

"Many construction managers will already be using a form of cloud computing, if they logon to access their bank account online or have a private web-based email account such as Gmail or Hotmail," explained Denes Nemestothy from NIS.

"With cloud computing, you can access your applications and data from any computer anywhere in the world connected to the internet.

"Your applications are always automatically fully up-to-date. There's no need to install expensive servers, no disruption to load software onto computers and that dramatically brings down the price of IT."

He added: "The worry from construction managers is that it's not safe. But that's simply unfounded.

"When you use applications and services recommended by a professional IT company such as NIS, you have a guarantee that your data will be protected and kept safe.

"Cloud computing is changing how IT is done in businesses. There's no future for storing data locally, or using applications loaded on your computer.

"Smart construction managers will recognise what's happening and reap the financial benefits now."

NIS advises businesses across the UK how to use cloud computing to dramatically slash IT costs while improving business efficiencies.
