Northampton based plant equipment dealer Shell Plant is celebrating its 17th successful year working in partnership with leading excavator manufacturer Kubota. As the upturn in construction continues, Shell Plant is seeing a rise in demand for mini-excavators from both old and new customers, which is a positive sign for the industry in 2015.
Since the launch of the extremely powerful 8-tonne Kubota KX080-4 excavator, Shell Plant has sold in excess of 100 units and has received excellent feedback which has in turn led to repeat orders.
One such customer is civil engineering contractors Maypine Construction. Andy Tice, Director at Maypine Construction, comments: “With a number of new housing projects on our books it is proving to be a really busy time for Maypine Construction so we needed to ensure our machinery fleet could cope with the demands that are being placed on it.
“In the past we’ve used other brands of machinery but after hearing such positive things within the industry about Kubota and being offered such a good deal from Shell Plant we decided to place an order for six KX080-4 excavators. First impressions are good and we are looking forward to putting the new Kubota’s through their paces over the coming months.”
The KX080-4 is a powerful yet environmentally friendly excavator that offers a host of advanced features, which include a direct injection diesel engine with common rail system, a diesel particulate filter, muffler, plus a host of other functions and equipment including ECO PLUS for superior fuel economy and productivity.
Julian Payne, Partner at Shell Plant, adds: “It is no surprise that the KX080-4 is proving to be so popular with hire customers and end-users alike - it features the latest engine technology that will comply with required emission controls for at least the next five years as well as being the strongest machine in its class. Its eco credentials and unrivalled power combine to make it a winning solution that our customers love.”
