IAG Cargo strengthens global reach with MASkargo handling agreement

IAG Cargo has begun handling MASkargo at its London Heathrow hub

IAG Cargo has boosted its global handling footprint with a major new partnership to manage MASkargo operations at London Heathrow, further cementing the airport’s role as one of the world’s most important cargo gateways.

The cargo arm of International Airlines Group has begun overseeing all MASkargo shipments passing through Heathrow, with freight now processed through IAG Cargo’s high-spec Premia facility. The move forms part of IAG Cargo’s wider strategy to expand its third-party handling capabilities and strengthen its position as a go-to partner for international carriers.

MASkargo, part of the Malaysia Aviation Group, provides a broad portfolio of cargo services including scheduled and charter flights, terminal handling and end-to-end logistics across air, land and sea. Its twice-daily connection between Kuala Lumpur and London makes Heathrow a pivotal hub within its global network.

Adam Carson, Chief Operations Officer at IAG Cargo, said the new partnership represents “an important step” for the business. He added that Heathrow’s location and infrastructure make it “a prime gateway for MASkargo”, with the Premia facility offering “exceptional airside access and world-class facilities” to support the reliability customers expect.

MASkargo CEO Mark Jason Thomas described the collaboration as a milestone in the company’s drive to enhance service standards and global reach. He said the partnership “strengthens MASkargo’s presence in one of the world’s key cargo hubs” and will allow customers to benefit from smoother transfers and “wider access to major destinations across Europe and the Americas” through strategic airline partners.

He added that IAG Cargo’s infrastructure and expertise align closely with MASkargo’s operational needs, supporting its ambition to deliver a “world-class cargo experience”.
