Howard Tenens Logistics has been officially named Best Warehouse Operation of the Year at the 2025 Multimodal Awards – a significant milestone for the independent, family-owned business and a powerful endorsement of its growing national presence in the UK logistics sector.

This prestigious industry accolade recognises the company’s unwavering commitment to blending smart technology with smart thinking, while delivering consistent, customer-focused performance across its warehousing network.

Over the past year, Howard Tenens Logistics has welcomed 17 new customers, rolled out future-ready technologies, and continued to reduce its environmental impact – all supported by a workforce proud to "do things properly".

While the award is a moment of celebration, the values behind the recognition are what matter most: operational excellence, large-scale innovation, and a people-first culture that drives long-term client value.

“This award recognises our commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and customer-focused service across our warehousing network, which is underpinned by delivering our four operational pillars,” said Jason Moscrop, Operations Director.

“This achievement is a direct reflection of the hard work, dedication, and high standards maintained by our incredible teams across the business.

"From front-line operators to support functions, every colleague has played a vital role in delivering consistent, reliable, and best-in-class solutions for our customers.

"A huge thank you to all our operations and group support functions colleagues, this win is yours.”

Operating over 4.5 million square feet of warehousing space across key locations including Swindon, Sunbury, Sharpness, Ashby, Andover and Manchester, Howard Tenens Logistics provides scalable, multi-sector solutions backed by a dedicated fleet and tailored infrastructure.

In the past year alone, the business has delivered several major operational milestones:

• Launched the UK’s first uncrated motorcycle logistics model

• Adopted a 100% lithium-ion MHE strategy in partnership with Linde

• Expanded advanced tech trials to enhance performance and sustainability

These innovations have had tangible impact. On one peak trading day, a single site processed 5,891 orders – exceeding targets by 18%.

The company also launched an in-house Solution Design team, promoted entirely from within, using advanced analytics like heat mapping, ABC analysis, and centre-of-gravity modelling to support customer growth and site efficiency.

Howard Tenens Logistics operates according to four key operational pillars:

• People and Development

• Safety and Compliance

• Continuous Improvement

• Customer Excellence

These guide every part of the business, from investment in training and digital platforms to frontline safety and long-term customer partnerships.

The past year has seen a major push in sustainability efforts, including:

• 31% reduction in fleet emissions

• 33% of energy from renewable sources

• Consolidation of over 100 vehicle movements

• Sustainability-linked funding model tying environmental progress to financial performance

The business also prioritises workforce development and digital capability, delivering over 2,600 hours of training, onboarding 10 new apprentices, and earning Cyber Essentials Plus certification for digital resilience and security.

With a workforce of more than 800 colleagues, Howard Tenens Logistics remains committed to building long-term, meaningful partnerships by staying true to its core values: Connected, Supportive, Progressive, and Resilient.

The company’s Multimodal Award win is not just a recognition of operational excellence, but a reflection of the culture, innovation and team spirit that underpin its mission to be one of the UK’s most reliable and forward-thinking logistics providers.
