Industrial door manufacturer, Hörmann UK, has installed two pairs of high speed, interlocking doors at a printing and publishing house in Surrey to prevent any dirt and debris from entering the printing area when regular deliveries are made.
As part of its printing process, Impressions printers in Chessington, needs to keep the working area at a constant temperature and humidity to prevent any damage to state of the art printing equipment and eliminate any contamination of print material.
The new interlocking door system allows a forklift truck to pass through the first high speed door and enter a vestibule area. This door is then quickly closed before a second fast acting door is opened and the truck is allowed to enter the printing area to unload.
Managing director of Impressions, Russ Green comments: "The high speeds at which the doors open and close ensure that the vestibule area is only ever subject to minimal exposure to outside temperatures. Heat loss and drafts in the working environment have been noticeable reduced, and the printing process is kept clear of damp and dirt."
The doors which have been installed at Impressions are Hörmann's external V6030 high speed, soft edge doors made from tough fabric with a vinyl vision panel. They combine strength and flexibility and incorporate anti-crash protection which is invaluable in saving on repair costs and down time.
In the vertical direction the soft edge profile is incredibly flexible, so should the door collide with an object or person, no damage or injuries will be sustained.
In the horizontal direction the soft edge ensures a high degree of stability, resisting high wind pressures and providing crucial protection against dirt and moisture, ultimately saving on energy costs.
