Letchworth Garden City logistics firm Aztek has landed its first-ever BRCGS AA rating — a top-tier accreditation that marks the pinnacle of global food safety and quality standards.

The Hertfordshire-based storage and distribution specialist achieved the highest possible ranking following a rigorous audit of its facilities last month. Although Aztek has held BRCGS accreditation for 11 consecutive years, this is the first time it has been recognised at AA level, a benchmark that signals exceptional performance in food safety, hygiene, quality management and traceability.

The BRCGS certification is widely viewed as the most demanding independent standard in the sector, underscoring a business’s commitment to maintaining “exceptional levels of quality, legality and safety.”

Aztek, a member of the Wolverhampton-headquartered Pallet-Track network, supports a broad portfolio of clients across the retail, food and drink industries. Its credentials extend beyond BRCGS, with additional accreditations from the Organic Food Federation as well as FORS Gold, Silver and Bronze.

Operations manager Duncan Pannell hailed the milestone as a testament to the team’s ongoing commitment to excellence, describing it as “a wonderful achievement for everyone at Aztek” and evidence of a “continuous journey of improvement.” He added that the company is “well-used to the work required to meet the BRC’s exacting requirements,” and that securing the AA rating demonstrates its high standards “all year round, every year.”

“This latest accreditation provides further assurance to our customers that our processes are maintained to the highest-possible standards all year round,” he said.
