Invests £155,000 in new fleet of delivery vehicles. The Heart of England Co-operative Society has demonstrated its commitment to its customers and the environment by investing in five brand new, environmentally-friendly delivery vehicles at a cost of £155,000.
Each of the Iveco 7.5 tonne vans will be used to serve customers across Coventry, Warwickshire and South Leicestershire. The fleet replaces the Society's five existing delivery vehicles which have delivered to over 100,000 customers over the last six years.
Between them the vehicles, each costing £31,000, are set to make around 24,000 deliveries per year – 14,000 transporting electrical goods and 10,000 delivering furniture.
Bryan Wheatley, General Manager of the Non Food & Travel Division at the Heart of England Co-operative Society, said: "Each of the vehicles comply with latest European legislation regarding the environment. They are all more fuel efficient than our old vehicles and are fitted with systems which reduce emissions of pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide.
"As a society we are committed to lead the way in taking care of our environment. Not only does our investment in these new vehicles show that but it also demonstrates our commitment to providing the very best for our loyal customers."
