A courageous quartet from GT Radial are swapping four tyres for two to tackle the legendary Circuit Bugatti in the Le Mans 24 Hour Cycle Race.
Brian McDermott, Country Manager UK for Giti Tire, manufacturer of GT Radial, Ellis Hadley, Senior Test Engineer, Martin Gibson, Senior Test Engineer and Bertrand Saint-Supery, OEM EU Technical Director make up the team who will be training hard and raising funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Taking place across August 23 and 24, each cyclist will share six hours riding time on the track among over 2,500 riders from across the world.
"I've been road cycling for 12 months and as a group we decided to do the Le Mans track," said Ellis. "It started off as banter and now we're doing it for real. As a team we've had family members affected by cancer and we are raising money to give something back."
"It's a massive circuit with a lot of history and we can't wait to tackle it," added Brian. "It's going to be the hardest thing we have ever undertaken. It's not just the six hours in the saddle during the 24 hours, but the training before the event and as well."
Richard Lyons, Managing Director - Europe, concluded: "I always knew my team was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty, but this is an exceptional challenge. Anyone who knows these great guys knows they will rise to the test, and I ask industry friends and colleagues to support them all the way."
