“Working together is the key to success when it comes to telematics” will the key message from the FTA within its presentation at the 2015 Microlise Conference.
Representing the Freight Transport Association (FTA) at this year’s conference will be David Wells (chief executive elect), who will be speaking at the event. Mr Wells will focus on the issues that the logistics sector face on a day-to-day basis, and how collaboration is at the heart of industry success moving forward.
As the voice of the industry, FTA recognises the importance of supporting and working closely with its members, helping them to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable logistics. One aspect of this is Telematics which play an important role in helping freight operators to reduce costs, improve safety and their environmental impact, whilst ensuring that they remain compliant, which will be included within the presentation by David Wells – who said:
“In the freight industry - where levels of efficiency differentiate between operators, and where margins are tight, operators are turning to technology and the explanation of their data to give them efficiency gains and a competitive advantage. With over 50 years of experience in this field, FTA is able to draw from the data it has compiled to support its members. Combined with the wide range of other services we can provide valuable information and advice to help achieve that performance gain.”
In addition, as part of his presentation at the event, David Wells will be outlining political priorities that FTA will be submitting to the next government post general election on behalf of its members, including the much needed investment in road improvements.

Microlise 2015 is free to attend and takes place at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, on 20 May, 2015. The conference, which includes a full day’s programme supported by an industry exhibition area, will once again be chaired by motoring journalist Quentin Wilson.
