The Freight Transport Association (FTA) is sponsoring this yearâs Institute of Road Transport Engineers (IRTE) Conference, where it will demonstrate its solutions for fleet engineers and workshop managers.
FTA pioneered independent vehicle inspection services (VIS) almost 50 years ago, with the aim of minimising annual test failures and roadside breakdowns. FTAâs vehicle inspection service provides a valued source of quality monitoring for fleet operators nationwide and is UKAS accredited.
At last yearâs IRTE conference FTA launched its Fleet Engineer Engagement campaign. The Association offers four premium solutions for fleet engineers and workshop managers including:
1 The latest vehicle Inspection training with the option to bespoke for specific sectors
2 IRTEC technician assessment â FTA has now completed more that 3000 assessments to date
3 The latest V2 IRTE Workshop Accreditation Audit
4 Workshop Engineering Manager Course â the first of its kind for 15 years
This yearâs conference at Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth from 16-17 September includes presentations, seminars and workshops under the banner âinnovation, compliance & safety: the way to efficient fleet operationsâ.
The programme includes a keynote address from Professor David Cebon of Cambridge University and speakers representing the DVSA and Department for Transport.
FTAâs stand at the conference will also feature information about the HGV skills competition at The Skills Show at Birmingham NEC in November. Around 80,000 delegates are expected to attend this event where the transport and logistics sector will present to the next generation of fleet engineers.
