Fortec Pallet Distribution Network appoints Neil Hodgson as new Managing Director

Neil Hodgson has been appointed Managing Director of the Fortec Pallet Distribution Network.

Neil, who was previously Network Director, succeeds Rod Abrahams who died in September at the age of 66.

Neil joined Fortec in 2006 as Regional Business Relationship Manager. He was later promoted to Network Director - a role in which he oversaw the operation of the licensee network and the management of the company from its central hub and administration centre at Watford Gap.

Nuneaton-born Neil has a wealth of experience in the transport industry although his first step on the career ladder was as a technical engineering apprentice with Courtaulds in Coventry.

Neil's move into the sector came when he started with Cory Distribution in St Albans. In this role he was involved with bonded storage of beers, wines and spirits.

He returned to the Midlands when he joined BHS in Atherstone, near his native Nuneaton, as a warehouse supervisor. He was later promoted to Traffic Manager where he was in charge of a 120-strong fleet of vehicles.

In 1979 Neil joined TNT at its national head office in Atherstone where he was made National Commercial Manager of TNT Overnite. He stayed with TNT for about five years before joining ANC, where he became a Director of ANC Midlands.

In 2002 Neil went to Target Express as Regional General Manager, rising through the ranks as Regional Director and Business Support Director, a post he held until joining Fortec as Regional Business Relationship Manager of the 65-strong licensee network. Neil was promoted to Network Director of Fortec in 2007.

Neil lives in Wiltshire and is married with one daughter. In his spare time he enjoys travel, the Arts and supporting Nuneaton Boro' FC.
