Final call for entries to Logistics UK transport manager competition

Finalists will be announced at Logistics UK’s Transport Manager conference in Birmingham later this year

Transport managers across the UK are being urged to enter Logistics UK’s Transport Manager of the Year competition before entries close next week.

The 2026 competition, which recognises excellence in transport management and operational leadership, will close for entries at 5pm on 20 May.

Open to transport professionals who hold — or are working towards — their Certificate of Professional Competence qualification, the competition aims to showcase the role transport managers play in keeping fleets compliant, efficient and operational.

Launched in 2022, the initiative has become a platform for highlighting achievements across the logistics sector, regardless of company size or operation type.

Entrants will be assessed through several stages, including statutory compliance testing, a case study submission and an online interview.

Finalists will be announced during Logistics UK’s Transport Manager conference in Birmingham on 3 December, with the overall winner revealed at the Logistics Awards in London on 10 December.

The competition is open to professionals nominated or contracted to manage transport operations, although entries must be supported by senior management or a line manager.

Ben Fletcher, chief executive of Logistics UK, said the award was designed to recognise the expertise and commitment of transport managers across the industry.

“Logistics UK’s Transport Manager of the Year competition shines a spotlight on the outstanding professionals who keep our industry moving and compliant,” he said.

“It celebrates their expertise and dedication, offering well-earned recognition from peers and industry leaders as they compete with the very best in their field.”

Mr Fletcher added that transport managers made a vital contribution to the success of the wider logistics sector.

Last year’s competition was won by Lee Thompson-Halls, Fleet Transport Manager at Brocklesby Ltd.

Speaking after receiving the award at the 2025 Logistics Awards, he said he felt “overwhelmed and very humbled” to win among what he described as an experienced and highly respected group of finalists.

The winner of this year’s competition will receive a £1,200 holiday voucher, while all finalists will be awarded complimentary tickets to the Logistics Awards ceremony.
