The European Transport Training Association (EuroTra) has appointed industry expert James Tillyer as its new President. Representing the Freight Transport Association (FTA) - the UK's leading transport trade body - Tillyer was EuroTra's Vice President before beginning his two-year term as President, which followed his appointment in Prague last week.
EuroTra is an international network of leading training institutes and organisations within the transport and logistics industry. Its principal aim is to serve the road transport and logistics industry by the development and training of human capital.
James Tillyer, of FTA's leading consultancy team, is the eighth President in EuroTra's 21-year history. He said:
"It is an honour to be elected President of EuroTra, and I will work hard to meet the expectations of the membership and to represent their interests and aspirations over my incumbent term.
"EuroTra is unique in that the member organisations and representatives work with goods and passenger vehicle drivers and managers every day, providing first hand knowledge about national and European issues which are discussed in an open forum with other member organisations.
"With the counsel of fellow members, I aim to steer EuroTra in its best interests, whether that means membership growth and increased participation, political aspirations with representation in Brussels, or through increased commercial activities on a pan-European scale."
