ALK Technologies Ltd, a leading developer of GPS navigation software, is proud to announce that Europe's largest electricity distributor, ERDF, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF group, has selected CoPilot Live Professional satellite navigation software for integration within their field service management experimentation "TAMARIS project".
ERDF, the French national electricity distributor, is initially equipping more than 1,100 field service workers throughout France with CoPilot Live's turn-by-turn navigation, fully integrated within their new mobile solution. Developing and maintaining 1.3 millions of km of electrical lines, serving nearly 33 million people, ERDF constantly carries out maintenance on the network including electrical connections, repair, and line activation.
In order to improve onsite maintenance, ERDF launched the TAMARIS project based on a Field Force Management solution, encompassing several industrial systems including workflow management, resource optimization, mobility service and integrated CoPilot Live Professional satellite navigation.
With seamlessly integrated GPS navigation, the 1,100 ERDF's field workers will progressively receive job schedule addresses directly to their multi-function handheld device. With one touch, the system will guide field workers from appointment to appointment, providing detailed route mapping, turn-by-turn directions and full voice guidance. The navigation element of the system is of particular value for new and existing field workers operating in unfamiliar territories.
With a common focus around the delivery of professional products and services, ALK Technologies worked closely with the TAMARIS project leaders to successfully integrate and deploy CoPilot Live Professional into the new solution.
