Egemin completes hoisting of three stacker cranes into new Zijderlaan warehouse

Last week Egemin Automation successfully completed the hoisting works of three automated pallet stacker cranes at Zijderlaan. To ensure that the hoisting of the 20-metre-high pallet cranes went according to plan the roof of the warehouse on the Suiker Unie Puttershoek site was temporarily opened. The new automated warehouse has to be operational by July 2014. Egemin will establish the connection of the warehouse with Suiker Unie's factory later this summer. The final commissioning of the entire installation is planned for October 2014.

Automated pallet transport between production and warehouse

The pallet cranes in the 120-metre-long and 40-metre-wide warehouse will be equipped with a satellite for multi-deep storage. The conveyor installation, which connects the warehouse with the Suiker Unie factory, will be able to transport up to 40 pallets per hour. This is done with transfer cars that will also be supplied by Egemin. The installation also receives direct deliveries from other factories and it has a despatch capacity of 125 pallets per hour. The automated warehouse will provide storage space for approximately 17,000 pallets in total. Additionally, Egemin Automation is also responsible for the control of the picking floor and the WMS system of the whole warehouse.
