Market Deeping based builders' merchant Eco Building Products (www.eco-building-products.co.uk) and its sister company The Deepings Trading Company (www.deepingstrading.co.uk) have strengthened their commitment to carbon reduction by improving the efficiency of their delivery services.
As well as operating their own delivery vans and a crane delivery vehicle for local deliveries the companies have teamed up with Corby based RCS Logistics (www.rcslogisitics.co.uk) to further enhance their delivery capabilities region-wide while at the same time reducing the number of vehicles that are on the road.
Eco Building Products operations director Ian Greenfield said: "Our partnership with RCS Logistics means that we can deliver bulk quantities of building materials to multiple sites and make collections from our suppliers without adding additional vehicles to our fleet.
"Reducing the number of trips we have to make in our delivery vehicles saves the customer valuable time and expense - and it reduces our carbon emissions as well. Customers can now order and have delivered everything they need to complete their project and enjoy the discounts that go with bulk order and delivery rather than have everything piecemeal."
RCS Logistics is committed to the environment and has a green agenda which it applies across all of its operations. It operates a back-load system which means it can economically collect from anywhere, thereby reducing its carbon miles and keeping its impact on the environment to a minimum.
RCS Logistics managing director Phil Mitchell said: "Our commitment to keeping our impact on the environment to an absolute minimum is ingrained across all of our operations.
"As part of our green agenda RCS Logistics wants to become actively involved in helping other firms, like Deepings Trading, reduce their carbon footprints."
