DIBS Distribution puts Burnt Tree on the menu for the first time

DIBS Distribution is a major national distributor to all the major fast food chicken restaurants in the UK and for the first time, the Middlesex based company has chosen Burnt Tree for its latest vehicle acquisition, with the recent arrival of a new Mercedes Atego 1622 16tonne rigid on a 5 year contract hire deal.

Fitted to a high specification with a Solomons multi-temperature refrigerated box body, and a Carrier Transicold Supra refrigeration system, this latest addition to the DIBS fleet will be covering over 80,000 kms per annum during its working life covering daily and overnight deliveries of the company’s extensive product range. The vehicle also features CCTV cameras and alarm systems.

Commenting on the switch to Burnt Tree, Toby Payne, transport director at DIBS Distribution Ltd said, “Until we started looking for a replacement vehicle, we had never really associated Burnt Tree with refrigerated trucks. However, with Burnt Tree’s recent move into temperature controlled vehicles, together with the input from their experienced sales team, we decided to switch our transport fleet provider to Burnt Tree on this occasion.”

“Although it is early days within the five-year deal, we are extremely pleased with the support we have from Burnt Tree and their detailed approach to our business is first class,” added Toby Payne.

DIBS Distribution is a family run business with its head office in Isleworth, Middlesex and the new Mercedes Atego 1622 from Burnt Tree is part of its 16 strong national truck fleet that distributes a huge range of frozen Halal chicken products and other items suitable for QSR restaurants. Other items carried on the truck include packaging, sauces, chicken coating systems, cooking oils, drinks and marketing material.

“DIBS Distribution is a good example of the new breed of customer that is being attracted to the comprehensive vehicle offering that now available through the Burnt Tree organisation. Over the past year we have developed a sizeable business based around our temperature controlled vehicle range and the arrival of new customers such as DIBS is testament to the success of our new business ambitions,” said Mark Howell, Contract Hire and Refrigerental Director at Burnt Tree.
