Develon’s latest generation excavators will make their Scottish debut at ScotPlant 2026 as part of a major machinery display from authorised dealer James Gordon Ltd.

Visitors to the construction equipment show will see the new Series 9 Smart Crawler Excavators for the first time in Scotland on the Gordons stand at the Royal Highland Centre in Edinburgh on 24–25 April.

ScotPlant is Scotland’s largest construction equipment exhibition, bringing together more than 200 exhibitors and thousands of industry professionals to showcase the latest machinery, technology and innovations across the sector.

The centrepiece of the Develon display will be two new Series 9 models: the 23-tonne DX230LC-9 and the 26-tonne DX260LC-9 crawler excavators.

The machines were first revealed at Bauma 2025 and are designed to deliver improvements in productivity, safety, operator comfort and sustainability.

Develon says the Series 9 machines introduce a range of advanced technologies aimed at boosting efficiency and reducing fuel consumption while maintaining high uptime for operators.

The company said the machines reflect its commitment to innovation and described the range as setting “new industry standards in Productivity, Safety, Operator Convenience and Sustainability”.

Alongside the flagship Series 9 excavators, Gordons will display a broad line-up of Develon machinery covering mini, compact and heavy equipment.

The mini-excavator range will include models from one to ten tonnes, such as the DX10-7, DX19-7, DX25-7, DX63-7 and DX85-7.

Larger machines on show will include the 10.7-tonne DX100W-7 wheeled excavator, the 15.6-tonne DX140LCR-7 crawler excavator, the 31.5-tonne DX300LC-7 crawler excavator and the DX160HT-7K high-track excavator designed for forestry work.

Powered by a Stage V diesel engine delivering 115hp, the DX160HT-7K is designed for challenging environments where higher ground clearance and stronger traction are required.

The machine is suited to applications including forestry, earthmoving, road construction and mounding, while also offering improved safety and maintenance access for operators.

Develon will also display the DD130-7 dozer, marking the company’s entry into the European dozer market.

One of the key design features of the machine is improved operator visibility, achieved through a narrower engine compartment that provides a clearer view of the dozer blade.

Additional safety features include a standard rear-view camera displayed on an eight-inch Smart Touch monitor, alongside LED lighting and multiple wiper blades to maintain visibility in difficult conditions.

The display will also feature the DL320-7 wheel loader from Develon’s award-winning DL-7 range.

The machine combines a Stage V engine with improved fuel efficiency, productivity and lower operating costs, while a redesigned cab is designed to provide a more comfortable working environment for operators.

Gordons, based in Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway, is the authorised Develon dealer covering Scotland and Cumbria.

Founded in 1865, the company supplies agricultural and construction machinery through a network of depots and provides servicing, parts and aftersales support.

The dealership recently received the Best Heavy Machines Dealer Award at the 2026 European Dealer Conference in Rome.
