The UK's leading supplier of heavy duty vehicle lifting solutions has strengthened its relationship with Dennis Eagle by supplying a range of new equipment to the company's new depot facilities in South Wales.
Halesowen-based SOMERSTOTALKARE visited Dennis Eagle's depot in Merthyr Tydfil to look at how expansion of the firm's operations in the town had impacted on its lifting requirements.
Darwyn Hare, service manager at the depot, explained: "Our presence in Merthyr Tydfil stretches back more than 30 years and we are now the preferred maintenance supplier for the County Council as well as many clients across South Wales and the South West of England.
"To cope with extra demand we have moved to a new depot that's five times larger than the old site across the road and includes an array of new facilities including a VOSA ATF lane and Tachograph - a first for any Dennis Eagle depot."
To cope with the increased lifting demands of the new depot, Dennis Eagle has also invested in a new set of cable free lifts from SOMERSTOTALKARE.
"We already operate an older set of Mobile Colum Lifts, in addition to the latest S6CF Cable Free Model," Darwyn said. "We have had very few issues with our older set of lifts so when choosing a new set to add to the expanded workshop the obvious choice was once again the reliability of a SOMERSTOTALKARE product.
"The back-up and additional services from SOMERSTOTALKARE were also a major factor, as we have also invested in ancillary garage equipment, staff operator training and a fixed rate service contract to ensure our lifts are maintained in line with current legislations."
Brian Young, national accounts manager at SOMERSTOTALKARE, commented: "Our strong working relationship with Dennis Eagle is reflected in the investment they have made with us, not only at this depot but multiple sites across the UK.
"Dennis Eagle are always looking to do things the correct way, and by using a set of six lifts on all their refuse vehicles it shows their attention to detail when it comes to ensuring health and safety standards are constantly met."
Across the company Dennis Eagle has over 35 sets of SOMERSTOTALKARE lifts and all are signed up on a service agreement. With the expansion into hydraulic lifts, SOMERSTOTALKARE is hoping to increase its service support to more Dennis Eagle depots across the UK."
