Curtiss-Wright to promote wide-ranging materials handling vehicle solutions at CeMAT

CEMAT 2014, 19-23 MAY. STAND C14, HALL 26

Curtiss-Wright Corporation has announced that its Industrial division will be exhibiting at this year's CeMAT show in Hannover, Germany and using its stand to promote products from its newly-formed Industrial Group - Arens Controls, PG Drives Technology, Penny + Giles and Williams Controls - which have extensive experience in designing and manufacturing solutions for the monitoring and control of materials handling vehicles.

For PG Drives Technology, a new range of AC industrial motor controllers will be on show at the exhibition. Designed to the requirements of EN ISO 13849, the new controllers feature dual microprocessors, an innovative dual input architecture and a dedicated 'B+ Safe' output. This extension to PGDT's high performing, compact and cost-effective C3 family will provide vehicle OEMs with the world's safest controllers for Class 3 trucks. The C3, suitable for pallet trucks, stackers and other small industrial vehicles is available with two power options (200Arms and 250Arms) and is compatible with all types of AC induction motors. The C3pump combines 200Arms or 250Arms traction capability with an integrated 330A DC pump drive. Incorporating a host of specialist features, C3pump provides efficient and precise control for modern day stackers.

The recently launched Penny + Giles ICT800 and ICT820 in-cylinder linear transducers will also be on show. Integrating signal conditioning into the ICT's flange has made the sensor suitable for intelligent mobile hydraulics as well as simplifying installation and reducing interconnecting cabling. The ICT800 features 12bit resolution and operates from either an 8 to 30Vdc (unregulated) supply or a 5Vdc (regulated) supply, while the ICT820 features 13bit resolution with a CAN SAE J1939 interface. Also recently launched is the Penny + Giles NRH275DR, a magnet-activated rotary position sensor featuring a slim, low-profile sensor housing and separate permanent magnet assembly. Other Penny + Giles products on show include its range of finger- and hand-operated joystick controllers, potentiometer and non-contact rotary position sensors and tilt sensors.

For Williams Controls, a selection of products from its electronic throttle controls range will be on show (including floor, narrow, suspended, LCV, EM and rocker versions). Particular focus will be on the new WM-528 - a low-profile, floor-mounted composite pedal that, using drive-by-wire technology, places all key components under the floor, providing protection from damage as drivers move in and out of the cab. Available with red or yellow pedal covers, the WM-528 rocker pedal is ideal for lift truck and other industrial applications and has been specifically designed to be robust and capable of providing directional control (FNR) and proportional output. Other Williams Controls products on show include lever-operated and rotary electronic hand controls and the WM-580 electronic CANbus joystick, which includes a fully-configurable button panel, Hall effect non-contact sensing, and a totally encapsulated CANbus circuit board.

The Curtiss-Wright Industrial division will also be using the show to highlight Arens Controls products including by-wire shift controls and power electronics for industrial and commercial vehicles. Products from all four brands - including electronic throttle controls, position sensors and power management systems - are suitable for a wide range of applications including agricultural vehicles, heavy trucks and buses, powered access platforms, backhoe excavators, airport fire and rescue vehicles, pallet trucks, floor care machines and powered mobility vehicles.

Curtiss-Wright's Industrial division is a recognized leader in the production of critical controls and assemblies for specialty vehicles, including sensors, electronic throttle controls and joysticks.
