Creative Composites, based in Northern Ireland, have unveiled a substantial factory extension to its already impressive composites manufacturing facility. The company manufactures high performance composite components for the material handling industry including fully assembled composite engine covers for a world leading forklift truck manufacturer.
The company collaborates with global OEMs and offers a range of manufacturing processes including compression moulding, resin transfer moulding and hand lamination. This gives Creative Composites the flexibility to cater for projects with high, medium or low volume demand.
The impressive extension added over 40% to the factory space allowing the company to meet growing demand. Jonathan Holmes, Commercial Director commented "The new extension is a fantastic addition to our facilities allowing us to continue to support existing customers and maintain growth tor the future. Our success is due to our unique approach to supplying composite components. We have an ethos of delivering innovative design, advanced manufacturing and unrivalled customer service which supports the demanding requirements of world leading companies". More and more material handling companies are selecting composites as their material of choice due to their numerous advantages over the likes of steel and aluminium. Composites are light-weight, strong and durable and have the flexibility of design required for an aesthetically superior component".
Engineering Design
Creative Composites has a dedicated engineering design team who collaborate with customers at the start of every project to offer help and advice to ensure components are optimised for composites manufacture. Experienced Composite Engineers, who are experts in Pro/Engineer software, work closely with production and operational departments to design for assembly which can help to consolidate parts and potentially lower costs when compared to using metals. Jonathan continues "We are at the leading edge of what can be achieved with composites and develop innovative solutions for demanding applications. Our engineers are available to help reduce development time, reduce risk and most importantly help to reduce the cost of a customer's project".
Advanced Manufacturing
The factory has been specifically designed for effective and efficient manufacturing. State of the art presses with active levelling capability ensure the best possible surface finish. Parts are transferred by advanced robotics to a range of five axis CNC centres for precise trimming before being painted on the company's automated paint line capable of automotive grade finishes. Sub-component parts including latches, hinges, seals and bonded parts can then be assembled by Creative Composites experienced assembly team before being installed into bespoke returnable packaging and shipped to the customer.
Unrivalled Customer Service
Quality is at the forefront of Creative Composites' manufacturing processes. The company has held ISO 9001 quality certification for over twenty years and was the first composites manufacturer in the UK to qualify for ISO 14001 environmental certification. TS 16949 quality certification for the automotive industry will also be achieved in early 2012 as part of the company's continuous development programme.
Creative Composites have built long lasting relationships with a range of global OEMs by providing a dedicated team of people who look after every stage of a customer's project. The company manages inventory stock and logistics for customer deliveries including remote warehousing and consignment stock. Quality and Environmental Engineers use the latest technology to ensure parts are finished to the highest standards including a Faro arm, CMM inspection and colour/gloss level measurement.
