The flat tool head, which can be swivelled without the need for additional tooling, can quickly and efficiently machine fillet welds on metal constructions without damaging neighbouring surfaces, even in acute angles. The FEIN fillet weld grinder KS 10-38 E was developed to meet the requirements of niche metal worker including specialist interior craftsmen, industrial tank constructors, ship and vehicle builders.
Compact fillet weld grinder for difficult-to-reach spots
Fillet welds occur automatically when two metal work pieces are welded together at an angle. Metalworkers have to grind these often difficult-to-reach spots, to satisfy customers' finish and corrosion resistance requirements. FEIN has developed a sophisticated solution especially for this niche application. With a head just 33 millimetres long, the powerful fillet weld grinder reaches even very narrow fillet welds. The head, which was developed by FEIN, can be smoothly swivelled through 180 degrees and fixed to the neck of the machine without the need for tools, which shortens the overall length of the machine and makes even work on corners and work offset to the side possible. The spark hood can be adjusted or removed entirely for different working positions.
Easy maintenance belt tensioning system for long tool life
Thanks to an easy maintenance belt tensioning system, FEIN achieves an especially long tool and drive life. The clamping fixture developed by FEIN ensures optimum transfer of force and preserves the drive belt. Meanwhile, the patent-pending spindle lock allows you to change fleece discs with ease without putting strain on the clamping belt.
High performance for efficient working
For fast work progress, especially with long fillet welds, the FEIN fillet weld grinder features an 800 W motor with permanent overload capacity. Double gear reduction delivers a very high torque. The speed range can be electronically adjusted between 1,350 and 3,750 rpm. Even when subjected to continuous use, neither the machine nor the head will overheat - allowing for safe working and avoiding unnecessary interruptions.
Fleece discs for various applications
FEIN offers hard-pressed fleece discs with a diameter of 150 millimetres and thicknesses of three and six millimetres. Coarse fleece discs are suitable for descaling fillet welds and for removing scratches. Medium discs smooth and grind fillet welds. Fine discs harmonise contours, remove tarnishing and deliver a satin-finish, while very fine fleece discs prepare fillet welds for polishing. A FEIN profiling stone allows you to give the fleece discs the right profile. Meanwhile, FEIN felt discs and polishing pastes allow you to polish fillet welds to a mirror polish.
