Closing the recycling loop event

Recycling market development company, London Remade is hosting a closed loop recycling event for the food, beverage, conference and events industries on Monday 4 December. The event will take place at the Brit Oval in Kennington, London from 2.45pm to 6pm.

Information will be given on using recycled or recyclable food and beverage packaging at public place venues and providing recycling bins to capture this

packaging after use. The used packaging is then remade into new packaging to minimise waste and CO2 emissions.

The event is aimed at facilities managers, sporting facilities and venues, conference and events organisers and catering and restaurant managers.

The Brit Oval will share its experience of closed loop recycling at the final npower Test Match against Pakistan which achieved a recycling rate of over 50%. Former England captain, Alec Stewart comments: "The amount of waste created at a Test Match is astonishing. This initiative aims to get everyone involved in

putting that waste back into good use through recycling."

Acorn House restaurant will provide information on implementing closed loop

recycling in the catering industry. The new restaurant is setting a new standard in sustainability. This ethos pervades all areas of the restaurant including using recyclable or biodegradable packaging for takeaway food and

recycling or composting kitchen waste.

Following the presentations, delegates will be able to network over a glass of wine and meet those who can help implement closed loop recycling, including

sustainable packaging, waste management and recycling companies.
