Chesterfield logistics firm, Hastings Freight strengthens management team with key appointment
Chesterfield logistics firm, Hastings Freight, has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of a general manager.
Steve Reed has been appointed to improve the firms’ customer service offering and will head up a 60-strong team. He brings with him a wealth of logistics industry experience having held senior roles at a number of pallet networks.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve said: “This is an exciting period for Hastings Freight as it forges ahead with ambitious plans for growth. The company is a mature, established business however, I’m keen put my knowledge to good use to develop its customer base, grow the order book and strengthen the brand.”
Gary Askwith, operations director at Hastings Freight, added: “Hastings Freight is now, and has been for some time, a 24-hour operation. It’s a complex business which demands the attention of a general manager who has the right blend of skills and experience to oversee the day to day service delivery to our customers while at the same time, facilitate our plans for further development.”
This latest appointment follows the recruitment of nine young members of staff along with three new additions to the night shift.
