PHS Datashred, the national shredding company, has picked up a gavel and held a charity auction for Whizz Kidz, the mobility charity that provides disabled children with equipment, wheelchair training and life skills courses.
PHS Datashred raised £1320 in an hour by selling donations from suppliers and employees including an experience day, a Wii, a Nintendo DS 3D, a slow cooker and a child's electric Mercedes car.
Anthony Pearlgood, commercial director at PHS Datashred based in Swinton, Rotherham, said:
"We wanted to support Whizz-Kidz and help disabled children become more mobile, improve their lives and have more fun. Thanks to everyone that donated goods and supported the auction. The money we raised will pay for a manual wheelchair for a child in need."
PHS Datashred is backing Whizz-Kidz's FastForward campaign which is calling on the government to reform young people's wheelchair services.
