A pet foods factory hampered by premises too small to enable efficient storage and distribution will soon be using new warehousing facilities, thanks to Pershore-based Chalcroft Construction.
A leader in providing turnkey high-specification solutions for the manufacturing industry, Chalcroft Construction is building a 50 metre by 60 metre extension for Crown Pet Foods, in Castle Cary, Somerset.
Crown Pet Foods manufactures specialist healthcare foods for cats and dogs and sells many of its products through the veterinary trade.
Crown Pet Foods' current premises do not have the space to store products and so the company called in Chalcroft to construct new warehousing, enabling it to improve efficiency and logistics.
Chalcroft's David Breese commented: "This is a project that will see the creation of new facilities and local job opportunities for a successful company and we are delighted to have been involved in making it happen.
"When it opens towards the end of June, it will be the culmination of a project that has required a lot of teamwork and focus so that the customer has been able to continue production without any disruption to the process and plan for a seamless move into the warehouse."
The new building comprises traditional steel frame with composite panel walling and a built-up roof system. Crown Pet Foods will be installing racking systems.
