Lifting gear distributor Certex UK has reacted swiftly to increased demand for same-day availability from the offshore industry by investing £150K in Crosby products ahead of customer orders.
The purchasing deal will ensure wider product choice and improved delivery times for all off-shore customers. Goods manufactured by Crosby Group Europe plc are to be stored and distributed from Certex's own dedicated Offshore Division based in Aberdeen and will be despatched as soon as an order has been placed. Customers will no longer need to wait for their goods to be released from Crosby.
As one of the nation's leading distributors of high quality lifting and safety equipment, Certex has been supplying products made by Crosby for 30 years. It is a long-standing and mutually-beneficial partnership with Certex recognising the quality of the Crosby brand and Crosby gaining from the added value that Certex brings to the marketplace in terms of technical expertise, training and after sales care.
Crosby has responded to the financial strength of the Certex group of companies and is keen to support partners who have the means to invest in high levels of stock, as opposed to distributors who rely on Crosby to hold goods on their behalf until a firm order is received.
The product choice available through Certex will be extensive and will include the full range of Crosby's shackles and eye bolts; ROV hardware; swivel hoist rings and snatch blocks, as well as the popular Quic-Slings, made by Certex but incorporating approved Crosby components and the first fully conforming wire rope slings on the market to comply with the latest European standard (EN 13414-1).
Davy Young, General Manager at Certex's Offshore Division in Aberdeen, said: 'With such unprecedented stock levels, and Certex's European-wide distribution network, we are confident of becoming the Crosby supplier to the off-shore industry; not just in Aberdeen, but across Europe.'
Indeed, the arrangement will prove beneficial to Certex customers European-wide, with the company preparing to stock Crosby products in greater volume at 32 European locations.
Kevin Smith, Certex's Operations Director, added: 'The Crosby name is synonymous with quality and fits in perfectly with Certex's commitment to offering the best products at a competitive price. Our customer service is backed up by Certex's extensive training and technical support, and we are delighted to play such a major part in the supply and distribution of a brand as prestigious as Crosby.'
Willy Caubergs, Managing Director of Crosby Group Europe, said: 'Certex's distribution network provides the ideal platform for the quick supply of Crosby goods across Europe. We are confident that Certex's new stocking policy will support our aim to grow our European market share.'
