Hoddesdon based Premium Product Logistics Provider Cert Octavian has appointed ex-Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd lean logistics professional John Lange as Head of Continuous Improvement.
Lange, 44, will spearhead Cert Octavian's lean methodology which is a critical element of their Every Customer, Highly Satisfied programme, creating customer approvals of enough significance to prompt positive referrals to others. Lange will be based at Cert Octavian's Hoddesdon Service Centre but will also be working nationwide at Cert Octavian's other Service Centres including Lutterworth and Rotherham. Lange is experienced in implementing lean practices in the Automotive, Rail, Pharmaceutical and Ship Building sectors for companies including MacFab Systems, BVT Ship Building, Bombardier Transportation, Syncreon (supplying to Vauxhall), ConvaTec Limited as well as Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd.
He joined Cert Octavian initially on an interim consultative basis but has now been appointed to the Executive Management Team.
Managing Director Anthony Finlayson-Green said, "We are delighted to welcome John to the Cert Octavian team. His considerable working knowledge of lean philosophies including 5s, Just-In-Time, Kaizen and Kanban across a range of sectors will fast track even greater efficiencies throughout our business and demonstrates our determination to consistently refine our premium services for our customers. His input will further develop standardised processes that will aid flow and include visual controls for efficient implementation. Our intensive 'Lean Temple' staff training programme already delivers rapid change improvements and John will add sustained consolidation to this by empowering our people to improve the business as individuals via their ideas and their contribution."
John Lange said, "Cert Octavian has a forward thinking strategy, especially in the business to business sector where lean is still rare. We have already done a great deal of work resulting in clear customer benefits and have a detailed understanding of where next to develop the whole business in order to continue to provide the best possible service to our customers at the lowest possible price, a service which has exceptional added value and can therefore truly be considered to be of premium value in its delivery."
