Mr Tom Boardley, CEO of CMA CGM (UK) Holdings Limited, has been appointed to the board of the Port of Tyne as a non-executive director, with effect from 1st July.
CMA CGM is one of the world's leading container shipping lines, based in Marseilles. As senior representative of CMA CGM UK, with a total of 450 staff in nine locations nationwide, Tom Boardley is responsible for the UK ship management for container vessels, shortsea shipping line management and the liner agency of the four CMA CGM brands in the UK, including Australian National Line, Delmas, and MacAndrews' Iberian and Poland services.
Based in the south east and a former pupil of Newcastle's Royal Grammar School, Mr Boardley started his career as a graduate trainee with OCL in 1978 after gaining an MA (Hons) in Engineering Science from Oxford University.
