The TV show. No-one was harmed in the filming of this show at Braby)
Braby, one of the UK's leading manufacturer of aluminium and stainless steel silos and storage tanks has recently opened their doors to BBC1's 'Casualty' stars to allow them to film exciting new scenes throughout the production facility.
The Bristol-based company were approached by the BBC in January and the episode went live on April 19th. The Braby facility boasts 3900 square metres of manufacturing area and with no less than sixteen overhead cranes which can lift up to 25 tonnes, the industrial unit seems to provide the perfect setting for the popular accident and emergency drama.
The scene involved a worker becoming trapped between the vertical rolls which are used for manufacturing the silos; a sure stomach-turner for viewers!
Braby kindly provided corporate overalls to be worn by members of the cast for authenticity purposes and several Braby employees gladly filled roles as extras.
Casualty is the longest running emergency medical drama series in the world, having first broadcast back in 1986. A BBC spokesperson explained their decision to use Braby: "We are dedicated to making full use of local resources and approached Braby for their great working atmosphere and obviously the potentially hazardous workplace".
Sales and Marketing Director Paul Mayer said: "Firstly I can assure you Braby run a perfectly safe workplace and comply with all health and safety standards. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would welcome the Casualty crew back at any time!"
