Cartwright's recently opened Scotland office has just secured its first major order north of the border with leading Scottish transport operator Pollock (Scotrans) Ltd.
The order is for 10 new tri-axle curtainsider trailers and delivery is scheduled in October. Cartwright's Scottish office has also secured an agreement for between 30 and 50 standard straight frame curtainsiders from Pollock on a rental basis.
Pollock is a successful independent UK logistics provider with a pedigree of nearly 80 years. Today the company, which is based in Bathgate, offers a comprehensive range of transport services including general haulage, warehousing distribution and logistics solutions.
In February this year Pollock acquired Gilbraith (TS) Ltd based in Blackburn, Lancashire.
Derek Howie, who heads the Cartwright office in Scotland, commented: "Pollock is one of Scotland's leading independent transport and logistics companies with a solid reputation for combining their tradition and professionalism with excellence of service, principles shared by the Cartwright Group.
"They decided to not only place an order with one trailer manufacturer but also to give Cartwright the opportunity to demonstrate the quality of our products.
"We are particularly delighted with this order from Pollock as it is the first major new build order since our Scottish office opened a few months ago and also the first order from Pollock for both new build and rental trailers," he added.
Mark Jackson, a director of Pollock commented: "We decided to look at other trailer manufacturers and consequently took the decision to place this order with Cartwright. It was all about price, quality of product and availability," he said.
