C Butt Ltd, logistics firm, wins five year contract with Netto Foodstores

Northampton-based logistics firm, C Butt Ltd, has won a substantial five year contract with the UK's leading discount chain, Netto Foodstores, to provide 100 per cent of the retailer's distribution requirements.

Karl Hodgkinson, C Butt group operations director, said: "C Butt has enjoyed steady growth over the years and securing this contract with Netto Foodstores is testament to our dedication to delivering quality logistics services."

C Butt will provide logistics and distribution services to Netto's 193 UK stores from distribution centres located in South Elmsall near Pontefract and Daventry, Northamptonshire. C Butt will also be responsible for the continuing development of a primary distribution service, returning product to each distribution centre whilst optimising the core fleet operations based at both distribution centres.

The new contract secures the ongoing employment of approximately 150 members of management and staff transferring from two incumbent third party providers.

C Butt has committed to a £9m investment for 63 new articulated units together with an order for 96 refrigerated trailers supported with a fully integrated ICT solution.

Commenting on the new contract, Charles Kay, managing director for Netto said: "Over the last few months, we've worked very closely with Karl and his team to secure this contract and I'm delighted that it has now come to fruition.

"As Netto continues to grow from strength to strength, it is vital that we employ first class logistics solutions to support this growth and ensure that all of our UK stores receive the correct deliveries on time, every time. I am more than confident that C Butt will deliver the goods as one of Netto's trusted retail partners."
