FOLLOWING SUCCESSFUL '06. After an award-winning 2006, ByBox Ltd will be building on its position as the UK's market leader for in-night parts distribution by developing a mirror image operation in Europe.
Formed in 2000, the company's core service offering is the development, delivery and support of an extensive range of distribution platforms for organisations operating large mobile field teams.
In the UK, ByBox operates the largest dedicated through-the-night distribution service, and makes more than five million deliveries a year into its unique national network of 14,000 drop boxes at more than 750 locations.
The other aspect of ByBox' booming business is its world-class manufacturing facility in France, which has manufactured and installed more than 54,000 electronic lockers in more than 20 countries worldwide.
With a turnover of £119,000 in 2002, the company has gone from strength to strength and in 2006 smashed the £20 million mark.
This year Stuart Miller, ByBox' founder and chief executive, anticipates the firm will hit £28 million.
Mr. Miller said: "Recent major contract wins have enabled the company to build and develop, and we have budgeted to roll out more sites this year.
"We are looking to further secure our foothold in the overnight parts distribution market, where we are already the dominant force. We are also looking at introducing a home delivery offering to further reinforce our position in the marketplace."
ByBox' progress and innovative approach has won national attention, after the firm shot to 12th in the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 ranking, which lists the country's fastest growing technology companies.
It is the only company in Coventry, and one of only two Midlands' companies, in the top 50.
Two major developments - the opening of two new hubs in Coventry and France - towards the end of 2006 have laid the foundations for the firm's long-term success, and will make sure that the firm's award-winning 2006 will be far more than just be a flash in the pan.
Over 100 staff are employed at the 100,000 sq ft facility in Coventry and a further 200 are employed nationally.
The French hub, strategically located near Orly airport, is a 27,000 sq ft complex and underlines the fact that ByBox is an international company which will be continually looking to expand its continental operations both in the business to business and consumer market.
The company's head count increased significantly at the end of 2006, especially in the realm of development expertise, so research and design as well as technological innovation will play an increasingly important role in ByBox' future.
Mr. Miller said: "Our success is based on our reputation for excellence inmanufacturing, innovation and customer service.
"We provide the best field service solutions to be found in the marketplace today, and that is backed by a team of professionals whose expert knowledge, commitment and enthusiasm sets the company apart from our competitors."
The ByBox company policy of working in partnership with its customers to promote innovation in all areas of the business has led to the development of almost certainly the industry's most advanced service platform- ThinventoryTM focused on addressing the key customer issues of minimising stock whilst maximising engineers'productivity and providing total visibility through the supply chain process, including critically managing the returns loop.
The ByBox proposition is simple - the company works in tandem with its clients in order to understand their business. The aim is to deliver solutions that maximise productivity and reduce unnecessary stock levels bringing measurable benefits to the bottom line.
Working together through a process of collaboration and innovation, ByBox solutions add value to a wide range of clients operating in the
telecommunications, electronics, pharmaceutical, IT, vending services, utilities and a host of other sectors.
These facets will ensure 2007 is another remarkable year for ByBox.
