ByBox, the UK's market leader in field service supply chain solutions, has appointed a new General Manager for Europe as it continues to expand its operation on the Continent.
Johnny Kusters who will be based at the company's Distribution Centre in Wissous, can speak four languages - Dutch, English, French and German and has nearly 20 years of experience working in supply chain logistics in a wide range of industries.
His skill with languages will prove invaluable as he spreads the message about ByBox' 'distribution revolution' - its potential to save costs and streamline the supply chain - across France and the Benelux countries.
ByBox has transformed the field services market in the UK by delivering spare parts overnight pre-8am to its network of more than 18,000 drop boxes across 1,350 locations, ready for an engineer to collect.
In Europe ByBox has now established over 200 drop boxes, as well as acess to around 60 pick up and drop off points.
Indeed France, the Republic of Ireland and most recently Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg have been introduced to the solution that is designed to deliver mission critical parts to field service engineers with plans in place to further expand ByBox' reach.
Mr Kusters said: "I am looking forward to expanding ByBox' operations in Europe. There is a huge amount of untapped potential and I am excited about the prospects here."
"The ByBox distribution revolution has helped companies in the UK to strip substantial costs out of their supply chains and I am sure companies on the Continent will appreciate the efficiencies and related cost savings that ByBox can introduce."
Mr Kusters joined ByBox from logistics giant DHL where he was Business Development Director for its Spare Parts Logistics Services. He was previously Director of Operations and Network at Relaystar-CAT Logistics.
His career began at Andersen Business Consulting, which he joined after taking a Masters degree in Applied Economic Sciences at Limburg Business School in his native Belgium. During his 14 years at Andersen he amassed a wide experience of different businesses, from carpets and industrial washing machines to computers and an international dredging company before specialising in advising logistics companies including The Belgian Post Group and ABX Logistics Netherlands.
Mark Garritt, Managing Director of ByBox sees Johnny Kusters' appointment as key to the company's continued expansion.
He commented: "Whilst the field service network in France works in a different way to that of the UK, the opportunity for a logistics solution such as that offered by ByBox is tremendous."
"It is for this reason that Johnny's appointment is key. He has a tremendous track record and his understanding and knowledge of the logistics marketplace will prove to be invaluable as we continue to expand our operation across Europe."
In addition to its growing drop box network, ByBox has had a presence in France for a number of years through Logibag, the company's the company's world-class manufacturing facility - which has manufactured and installed more than 54,000 electronic lockers in over 20 countries worldwide.
As well as delivering parts destined for field service engineers in several European countries, ByBox also offers a solution for companies holding stock at centralised European warehousing that needs to be delivered in the UK.
Parts can be picked as late as 7pm from locations such as Eindhoven, Munich, Frankfurt and Antwerp and still be delivered to the UK the next morning, pre-8am to a drop box or pre-10am to site, coming through ByBox' dedicated late hub at Coventry in the UK.
