Buffaload Logistics has created a new position of UK General Manager and has promoted National Operations Manager Liam Gimbert to the post.
As part of a restructuring initiative integral to the company’s stated growth plan, the new role will encompass the day to day running of all Buffaload sites and their respective fleet requirements, along with the responsibility for new buildings, including a new central cold store planned for 2016.
“This appointment,” explains Managing Director Julie Feltwell “represents a key part of our general growth strategy and further strengthens our senior management team. Our double deck temperature controlled fleet now exceeds 100 trailers and our dry freight rental operation is also expanding fast. Therefore, the infrastructure which supports our national logistics business must be maintained to the highest order and under Liam’s guidance it will continue to gain in strength and provide a solid platform for ongoing growth.”
Buffaload Logistics, based on a purpose-built 16 acre site in Huntingdon, currently operates a fleet 120 temperature-controlled trailers including 102 temperature controlled double-deckers. The company offers cross-docking and on-site chilled and frozen pallet storage in three locations in England and has recently opened a distribution hub in Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. From here, Buffaload provides a nationwide chilled consolidation and distribution service for temperature-controlled and ambient loads.
The company has tripled in size over the last three years and intends to double in size again by 2018. To this end, further appointments to the management team are soon to be announced.
