BRS supplies new Masternaut equipped Volvo tractor fleet to Adamson Group

Manchester, UK, 29 July 2008 - BRS has won a rolling contract from the Scottish chilled and frozen food distribution specialist Adamson Group Services Ltd to supply eight new Volvo FM13 Euro 5 tractor units. In addition to their green credentials, the vehicles will be equipped with the latest web-based satellite tracking service from Masternaut Three X, which interfaces with the Digital Tachographs allowing Adamson to monitor drivers' hours remotely in real time. The tracking service also feeds directly to the Adamson back-office transport system.

Adamson Group has a long relationship with BRS having hired vehicles in the past and so the company's MD Malcolm Wilde was familiar with its quality of service.

"BRS has proven in the past to be an extremely reliable company and we are happy to do business with them again. The company allowed us to trial Volvo equipment against the existing Scania units so that we could test each one for best performance, both environmentally and in terms of efficiency and reliability. The Volvo units we have chosen are equipped with the most advanced engines on the market producing the lowest possible exhaust and engine noise emissions. Coupled with the Masternaut technology we are set to make significant fuel savings with the added benefit of reducing the impact of our operations on the environment," he says.

Due to BRS's forward thinking approach of ordering vehicles in advance to offset lead times, it was able to supply the eight Volvos to Adamson Group at very short notice.

Mark Barton Sales Director at BRS said: "We are very pleased that we secured this deal with the Adamson Group and look forward to working closely with them in the future."
