The CeMAT trade show, the world's biggest and leading show for intralogistics held from May 2-6, 2011 in Hanover, is the ideal showcase for the range of new products from BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH, a leading storage specialist headquartered in Meisenheim, Germany.
The innovative product range features an entirely new series of heavy duty containers from polypropylene. The 800 x 600 mm container for load capacities of up to 500 kg opens up new possibilities in production, storage and transport logistics. The most obvious advantage is that the own weight of this hardwearing allrounder for very heavy duties of up to 500 kg is much lower than the weight of same size mesh box pallets or steel sheet containers, making the new SL86 the ideal container to fulfill lean production requirements. The excellent rigidity allows high stacking loads of up to 1500 kg for dynamic use and 1000 kg for static use.
With their PROmotion system, BITO have designed an ingenious enhancement to further increase the efficiency of their static pallet racking system PRO. The PROmotion shuttle is a battery operated and remote-controlled lane vehicle to facilitate pallet handling and transport within a pallet racking installation. Moving unassisted on specially designed guide rails without connection to another carrier vehicle, the shuttle provides continuous in- and outfeeding and assumes stock control functions.
Geared to specific market requirements
Special attention was given to the Motor for the mobile shelving & racking installations: both the steering and safety technology. The BITO R&D department conducted research to improve on the memory based steering systems (SPS), which have been standard in the market up to now. Focussing on market specific requirements, the R&D team performed a general overhaul and updated the system in line with state-of-the-art requirements. The advantages of the new system can be viewed at the CeMAT trade show!
Another new product to be presented at the CeMAT is the new standardised BITO braking roller for carton live storage lanes. This cleverly devised component allows both empty and fully loaded bins and containers to be fed into the same lane with a predetermined lane incline that will fit the entire range of weight options. The new braking roller ensures that load carriers with different weights will move reliably, safely and at the appropriate speed to the picking face - without the need for devices such as pushers, hooks, etc.
