Bibby Leasing Ltd is no stranger to generous causes – when it comes to charity, the Bibby Line Group as a whole are indisputable generous giants.
Since 2007, Bibby Line Group employees have donated over £7.9 million to over 1,000 charitable causes, supported by the company’s “Giving Something Back” programme that generously offers pound for pound match-funding.
That’s why it came as no surprise when Bibby Leasing donated a generous £2000 to “Help for Heroes” in a live charity auction at the FLTA Awards show this year.
The annual FLTA Awards, which reward excellence throughout the materials handling industry, raised over ÂŁ10,000 for Help for Heroes during the auction, which was just one part of its spectacular awards event.
John Bradshaw, Senior Sales Manager of Bibby Leasing explained: “Charity is a large and very important part of our company ethos and there is a genuine community spirit that drives a whole host of money-raising events that take our employees all over the world. From building wells in Tanzania, to parachuting and scaling peaks for a range of charities, most recently for Transaid.”
But it’s not all blood, sweat and tears in foreign climes, there are also many local fundraisers such as cake baking, car washing and sponsored bike rides. John continues: “Our accounts manager Paul Stamp is a seasoned sponsored marathon runner and has raised a huge amount. As we speak he is in training for a charity triathlon in the UK later in the year.”
Bibby Leasing’s donation to Help for Heroes was also strongly influenced by company M.D Carol Robert, who has a strong family connection to the military, including her father, brother, son-in-law and father-in-law, who is a retired bomb disposal expert.
