The new system helps track vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules and compliance deadlines
A construction support firm has strengthened its fleet compliance and oversight after adopting a new digital vehicle management platform.
Bardon Environmental says the system, developed by fleet software specialist AssetGo, has helped streamline vehicle checks, licence validation and maintenance scheduling across its growing fleet.
The platform centralises key compliance processes in a single digital system, giving the company improved visibility of vehicle inspections, servicing schedules and per-vehicle costs.
Bardon Environmental operates nationwide across the construction, industrial and public service sectors, where efficient fleet management is increasingly important as operations expand.
Since September 2025, the company has rolled out the AssetGo system across its van fleet and company cars, replacing previously manual processes with a centralised digital workflow.
The change has allowed the business to track compliance requirements more effectively while improving day-to-day management of its vehicles.
Lucy Standhaven, administrator at Bardon Environmental, said the system has quickly become part of routine operations.
“The system is now embedded in daily operations,” she said.
“We use AssetGo every day for vehicle checks, licence checks and tracking costs for each vehicle. Having everything in one place makes it much easier to manage the fleet as it grows.”
Before introducing the platform, compliance and maintenance tasks were handled manually, with vehicle defects and servicing requirements passed internally before being arranged with external providers.
Standhaven said moving to a digital workflow has improved tracking and reduced administrative workload.
“We didn’t use any digital system before AssetGo. Defects, MOTs and services were reported manually and then booked separately, but now it’s much easier to track issues and get them resolved more quickly,” she explained.
The system also provides automated reminders to help the business manage compliance deadlines and maintenance schedules more effectively.
“Automated alerts now support forward planning and help the business stay ahead of compliance deadlines,” Standhaven said.
“For example, the system auto-tracks MOTs and service intervals, which gives us enough notice to get everything booked in. It helps us stay organised and avoid last-minute problems.”
The platform is also providing clearer financial oversight of the company’s fleet by tracking the costs associated with each individual vehicle.
“In fact it keeps track of all costs per vehicle, which is really useful and helps us stay on top of fleet requirements as they change,” she added.
Standhaven said support from the AssetGo team helped ensure a smooth transition during the rollout of the new system.
“The AssetGo support team were very helpful throughout the switchover and, as we go along, any issues or queries are resolved the same day.”
